New York City
Star Architect Peter Marino
It's not very often you get to photograph someone dressed in leather from head to toe who goes by the name of "The Pedro". Especially not on the 36th floor of a corporate building in Midtown Manhattan during daytime. However when you do, it's comforting to know that the subject, Architect Peter Marino is a genuinely nice guy to work with. If you ever visited a high-end retailer such as Dior, Prada or Gucci chances are very high that Peter designed that store.
Sixty Hotel SoHo for Monocle
Just before the end of the year I shot a story for Monocle about the new Sixty Hotel in Soho. The hotel is designed by Interior Architect Tara Bernerd. The issue is out in stores now.
Summer in America
Summer is officially over, at least here in the US. During the last three months I had the opportunity to visit a couple of new places while on the road. I usually try to stay an extra day or two when I'm out on assignments in order to discover the area in my own pace.
This Summer I stopped at Willie's Fish Pond in Virginia (which I first thought was a sea food restaurant). I met a homeless man who perform a flawless dance routine to Chic's Le Freak at a bus stop in Detroit (he was not waiting for the bus) and shot a tremendous amount of images of skyscrapers in Lower Manhattan (don't know why, I just love it). Oh and I went Upstate as well.... but more on that next time.
